Join the Autism Conversation at the Autism Translational Research Workshop

Did you know that about 1 in 44 children in the U.S. have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC?

As of 2018, ASD prevalence in Utah is estimated to be 1 in 46 children. This has risen from 1 in 58 reported in 2012 according to University of Utah Health.

Although the ASD prevalence has steadily increased, it’s not because more children develop autism now than before. An increase in extensive screening, awareness, and better access to healthcare has allowed healthcare professionals to understand ASD better and diagnose more accurately.

As awareness increases and diagnostic criteria change, it’s important that our approaches adapt too. Come learn new ideas and methods while meeting with autism professionals.

The Autism Translational Research Workshop will be held at Brigham Young University on April 14–15, 2022.

Connect with physicians, nurses, psychologists, school psychologists, educators, social workers, BCBAs, occupational therapists, marriage and family therapists, and speech and language pathologists who work with individuals with autism.

Parents and grandparents of children with autism as well as autistic adults are also welcome.

Come discover new approaches to care for individuals on the autism spectrum and network with other caregivers and educators seeking to improve autism services in your community.

This workshop will allow you to gain effective resources and skills to help you approach, educate, and provide care with greater sensitivity and understanding.
